So, history has been written. Records book documented. The Los Angeles Lakers have won another title. Kobe Bryant can say he did it without Shaq. Phil Jackson is arguable the greatest coast in North American sports history with 10 rings as a coach. What
more can the Lakers say? What more can they prove? Despite a wildly inconsistent playoff run they end up with the glorious treasure each team seeks out in the beginning of the year.

There can only be one. Call the Lakers this year's version of Highlander for cutting down every opponent that they have faced. Through the infamous finger of Kobe to unparalleled fatigue...Kobe found a way to lead his team to victory. So what's next? Rest I hope. Surgery maybe. Well we know this for sure, the Lakers have some serious decisions to make on how to improve their team next season.

The Lakers can remain dominant for the next 2 to 3 years. I don't want to speak to soon and rant that this team is the next dynasty for this period but I'm sure that there is a Lakers fan that is willing to say so. In fact I'm sure that they are Laker fans ready to cheer, scream or maybe loot. Yes loot! A foolish display of teenagers and young adults causing trouble after the Game 5 closeout of the Magic. I guarantee you that the perpetrators weren't even Lakers fans.

But this is a happy time. Sure to be followed by a $5,000,000 parade. Well maybe not five million but enough for people to question if it is necessary to spend top dollar. In this tough economic time can we say that the city of Los Angeles should spend wads of money in celebration? I'm sure we will find out shortly. Until then congratulations to the Los Angeles Lakers. Hope to see you in the Finals next year.
