LOS ANGELES - Bryce Taylor scored a career-high 32 points, making every shot he took to lead Oregon past
OJ Mayo and the USC Trojans for the
Pacific 10 championship.
The Ducks (26-7) head into the NCAA tournament on a six-game winning streak. They haven't been there since 2003, the last time they won the conference tourney.
Taylor went 11-for-11 from the field, 7-for-7 from 3-point range and 3-for-3 from the line - before being removed with 6 1/2 minutes left and the Ducks ahead by 40 points.
Tajuan Porter, the tourney MVP, added 16 points and Aaron Brooks 15 for the Ducks, who shot 54 percent.
Lodrick Stewart led the Trojans (23-11) with 12 points and Nick Young added 10.
Sunday Games
No. 1 Ohio State 66, No. 3 Wisconsin 49
CHICAGO - Ohio State won the Big Ten tournament. Now the No. 1 Buckeyes can focus on the big prize.
Mike Conley scored 18 points, Ron Lewis added 17, and the Buckeyes beat No. 3 Wisconsin Badgers 66-49 Sunday to win their second tournament title.
The Buckeyes then learned they have the top seed in the South regional and will face Central Connecticut State on Thursday. Wisconsin got the second seed in the Midwest and a matchup with Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Friday.
Greg Oden finished with 12 points, 10 rebounds and four blocks after playing just 6 minutes in the first half against the Badgers, but Conley and Lewis did enough to lift Ohio State (30-3) to its 17th straight victory.
Big Ten player of the year Alando Tucker missed his first six shots for Wisconsin and finished with 10 points, going 4-for-13 from the field. Kammron Taylor scored 15 points, but was just 6-for-18. The Badgers (29-5) never found their stroke, going 21-for-57 overall and 4-for-23 on 3-pointers. They also committed 17 turnovers.
No. 2 Kansas 88, No. 15 Texas 84, OT
OKLAHOMA CITY - Sherron Collins scored 20 points and Kansas rallied after trailing by 22 in the first half to beat Texas in overtime and claim its second straight Big 12 title.
Texas' Kevin Durant, the Big 12 player of the year, matched his career high with 37 points but took only two shots in overtime and did not score.
Julian Wright and Brandon Rush each added 19 points for Kansas (30-4), and Mario Chalmers - who hit the tying 3-pointer to force overtime - scored 17 in helping the Jayhawks win their fifth Big 12 tournament title.
The Jayhawks enter the NCAA tournament on a season-best 11-game winning streak and as a No. 1 seed in the West regional. They open Friday against the winner of the play-in game between Florida A&M and Niagara.
A.J. Abrams added 19 points for Texas (24-9), which two days earlier had rallied from 20 points down against Baylor in what had been the biggest comeback in Big 12 tournament history.
The Longhorns were seeded fourth in the East regional and will face No. 13 New Mexico State on Friday.
No. 6 Florida Gators 77, Arkansas 56
ATLANTA - Florida finished off three routs in three days, beating Arkansas to claim its third straight SEC tournament championship and a No. 1 seed in the Midwest regional.
It was another devastating team effort by Florida (29-5), which lost three of its last five regular-season games but showed no weaknesses at the Georgia Dome. The Gators ripped through their opponents with an average winning margin of 19.7 points.
Al Horford scored 18 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, and Joakim Noah had 17 points, eight rebounds and four assists for the Gators, who face 16th-seeded Jackson State on Friday.
Michael Washington led the Razorbacks (21-13) with 17 and Sonny Weems added 15 points. Arkansas was seeded 12th in the East regional and faces No. 5 Southern Cal on Thursday.
No. 8 North Carolina 89, N.C. State 80
TAMPA, Fla. - North Carolina used its depth to end eight years of frustration in the Atlantic Coast Conference tournament, beating North Carolina State for its first league title since 1998.
Brandan Wright and Wayne Ellington scored 16 apiece for the Tar Heels (28-6),
UNC Tyler Hansbrough went 11-for-11 from the foul line to finish with 15, and Reyshawn Terry and Ty Lawson added 13 each.
In winning their 16th ACC tournament title, tying Duke for the most in conference, the Tar Heels nailed down the top seed in the East regional and will play No. 16 Eastern Kentucky on Thursday.
Brandon Costner led N.C. State with 28 points. Courtney Fells had 18 and Gavin Grant finished with 10. The Wolf Pack needed to win the championship to get into the NCAAs.
Texas A&M-Corpus Christi 81, Northwestern State 78
HOUSTON - Chris Daniels scored 19 points and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi held off Northwestern State for the Southland Conference championship and its first berth in the NCAA tournament.
Josh Washington had 16 points for Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (26-6) and Josh Ervin added 14. The Islanders received a 15th seed in the Midwest regional, where they will face second-seeded Wisconsin on Friday.
Trey Gilder led the Demons (17-15) with 25 points and Jermaine Spencer had 13.
Saturday Games
No. 9 Georgetown 65, No. 13 Pittsburgh 42
NEW YORK - Roy Hibbert scored 14 of his 18 points in Georgetown's big first half and the Hoyas cruised past Pittsburgh to win the Big East championship.
Jeff Green, the tournament's Most Outstanding Player, added 21 points for top-seeded Georgetown (26-6), which won its conference-record seventh title and first since 1989.
Sam Young scored 10 points for third-seeded Pittsburgh (27-7), which was in the final for the sixth time in seven years but has just one title in that span. The Panthers finished 16-of-61 - 26.2 percent - from the field.
Center Aaron Gray was 1-of-13 and finished with a season-low three points while being defended by Hibbert.
No. 5 Memphis 71, Houston
MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Chris Douglas-Roberts and Antonio Anderson each scored 17 points and Tigers extended the nation's longest winning streak to 22 games to wrap up their second straight Conference USA tournament championship.
The Tigers (30-3) became the first Conference USA to go undefeated in the regular season, then win the tournament title.
Oliver Lafayette had 23 points for Houston (18-15), which hadn't played in a conference tournament championship since 1992. Jahmar Thorpe added 15.
No. 25 UNLV 78, No. 23 Brigham Young 70
LAS VEGAS - The UNLV Runnin' Rebels raced into their first NCAA tournament in seven years by rallying to beat BYU in the Mountain West championship.
Michael Umeh scored 18 points and Wink Adams 15 as the second-seeded Rebels (28-6) overcame an early double-digit deficit against the top-seeded Cougars (25-8), who got 34 points from Keena Young.
Lon Kruger became the fifth coach to take four teams to the NCAAs.
BYU (25-8), coming off its first outright league title since 1987-88 and owner of the nation's longest homecourt winning streak at 31 games, has a good shot for an at-large NCAA bid.
Albany 60, Vermont 59
BURLINGTON, Vt. - Jamar Wilson scored 22 points, Jason Siggers added 14 and the Great Danes won the America East conference championship to earn a spot in the NCAA tournament.
Albany (23-9) reprised its victory over Vermont in last year's title game, but this time won before a raucous Vermont home crowd.
Marqus Blakely and Mike Trimboli led the Catamounts (25-7) with 10 points apiece.
George Washington 78, Rhode Island 69
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. - Carl Elliott scored 17 points to help George Washington defeat Rhode Island in the Atlantic 10 final and give the Colonials their third consecutive NCAA bid.
Dokun Akingbade added 15 points for George Washington (23-8), Maureece Rice had 12 and Regis Koundjia 11.
Will Daniels scored a career-high 29 points for Rhode Island (19-14), which was in its first tournament final since 1999.
Florida A&M 58, Delaware State 56
RALEIGH, N.C. - Brian Greene's buzzer-beating layup lifted Florida A&M past Delaware State in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference championship.
Greene finished with 22 points and 13 rebounds for the Rattlers (21-13), who earned their fourth NCAA tournament berth but first since 2004.
Roy Bright had 23 points and Elyon Bush added 10 for top-seeded Delaware State (21-12), which was denied its second trip to the NCAA tournament in three years.
Jackson St. 81, Mississippi Valley St. 71
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Trey Johnson scored 33 points to lead Jackson State over Mississippi Valley State in the Southwestern Athletic Conference final.
The win sends the Tigers (21-13) to the NCAA tournament for the first time in seven years.
Carl Lucas led Mississippi Valley (18-15) with 22 points and Tychicus Snow added 15.
Miami (Ohio) 53, Akron 52
CLEVELAND - Doug Penno made a controversial 3-pointer off the glass as the horn sounded to give Miami a stunning win over Akron in the Mid-American Conference championship.
Penno's shot set off a premature celebration by Miami's players, coaches and fans at midcourt. Eventually, 0.6 seconds were put back on the clock, giving Akron one last chance.
But an inbounds pass to Nick Goddard went out of bounds, ending the game. Jeremiah Wood led the Zips (26-7) with 17 points.
Tim Pollitz finished with 19 points for Miami (18-14) and was named the tournament's MVP. Penno added 11 points for the RedHawks, who won their fourth MAC title and will make their 17th trip to the NCAAs.
New Mexico State 72, Utah State 70
LAS CRUCES, N.M. - Justin Hawkins scored 20 points and Elijah Ingram had 18 points, including four 3-pointers, to lead New Mexico State (25-8) to a berth in the NCAAs.
New Mexico State's Ted Knauber stepped in front Kris Clark's pass intended for teammate Chris Session as Utah State was trying to work for a potential winning or tying shot. Knauber made the steal, was fouled and made two free throws with 12.2 seconds left to make the score 72-68.
Jaycee Carroll scored 26 points, Durrall Peterson scored 15 for Utah State (23-11), which beat No. 10 ranked Nevada in Friday's semifinals.
Long Beach State 94, Cal Poly 83
ANAHEIM, Calif. - Aaron Nixon had 29 points and a career-high 11 rebounds to lead Long Beach State to the Big West Conference tournament championship and its first trip to the NCAA tournament since 1995.
Nixon, the conference's player of the year, was named the tournament's most valuable player.
Kejuan Johnson added 24 points and Kevin Houston had 17 for the top-seeded 49ers (24-7), who used won for the 11t time in 12 games.
Chaz Thomas scored a career-high 31 points for the second-seeded Mustangs (19-11), who snapped an eight-game winning streak. Dawin Whiten added 15 points and Derek Stockalper grabbed 12 rebounds.
